Reviewing Your Document

Track edits with accept/reject, and add, resolve, and manage comments — all from the editor's Review tab.

Inkwise includes a single-user review workflow for marking edits and leaving notes as you revise. You turn it on in the editor toolbar and manage everything from the Review tab in the editor's right sidebar.

Track changes

Turn it on. Flip the Track changes switch on the right of the editor toolbar. While it's on, your insertions and deletions are marked instead of applied silently — the Review tab shows New edits are being marked (or Turn on track changes in the editor toolbar to mark edits when it's off).

Review the changes. Open the Review tab to see every pending change and a count of how many are outstanding. For each change you'll see:

  • Whether it's an Insertion or Deletion, and when it was made.
  • Jump to change to move the editor to that spot.
  • The affected text.
  • Accept to keep the change or Reject to undo it.

To clear everything at once, use Accept all or Reject all at the top of the list. When there's nothing outstanding, the tab shows No tracked changes yet.

Comments

Add a comment. Select the text you want to annotate, then click the Comment action in the editor toolbar, type your note, and click Save comment. (The Comment action is available only when text is selected.)

Manage comments. The Review tab lists your comments with a count of how many are open. Each comment shows:

  • Whether it's an Open comment or Resolved comment, and when it was created.
  • Jump to text to move the editor to the commented passage.
  • The comment body and the quoted text it refers to.
  • Resolve to mark it done (or Reopen to bring it back), and Delete to remove it.

When there are no comments, the tab shows No comments yet.
