AI Analytics Suite
AI Assistant
Use the floating, context-aware AI assistant that follows you across every Analytics module, with module-specific prompts and exportable transcripts.
The AI Assistant is a floating chat that follows you across the Analytics modules. Unlike the research bots, it's context-aware: it knows which module you're in and can see the data on your screen, so its answers are specific to what you're actually working on.
Opening and moving it
Look for the assistant launcher (a chat icon) on any Analytics page. Click it to open the chat; it greets you with the current module, for example "I see you're in the Variance & Flux Analysis module." You can:
- Minimize / maximize the window to keep it out of the way.
- Drag it to reposition it on screen.
- Close it — it keeps your conversation while you navigate.
- Watch for an unread badge when a reply arrives while it's minimized.
Asking for help
Type into the box ("Ask anything about accounting…") and send. Because the assistant sees your current screen, you can ask about specific accounts, balances, or items in front of you. When you open it, it also offers suggested prompts tailored to the module you're in:
| Module | Example prompts |
|---|---|
| Variance | "Explain the top 5 material variances" · "What's the appropriate materiality threshold for this dataset?" · "Draft a variance analysis memo for the reviewer" |
| Reconciliation | "Why are these transactions unmatched?" · "Suggest matches for the remaining unmatched items" · "How should I categorize this exception?" |
| Fixed Assets | "Is this the correct amortization method for this asset type?" · "Explain the GAAP vs. Tax difference for this asset" · "What journal entries do I need for this month?" |
| Waterfall | "How much revenue will we recognize next month?" · "Is this the correct recognition method under ASC 606?" · "Show me the remaining performance obligations" |
| Dashboard | "Summarize my team's activity this week" · "What items are pending my review?" |
A reconciliation superpower
When you're in Reconciliation and ask the assistant about your unmatched items, it can do more than explain — it can propose a new matching pass and offer to add it directly to your reconciliation, so you can re-run the match with the improved rule.
Exporting a conversation
You can keep a record of any conversation. Copy a message, or export the whole transcript as PDF, Word (.docx), or Excel for your workpapers.
Note: The assistant is meant for quick, in-context help and isn't saved as a permanent record the way research sessions are. For durable, citation-heavy research you'll want to refer back to, use the IRS & GAAP Researchers.
